Kolkata: Securities and Exchange Board of India Chairman U K Sinha has said the merger process of the Forward Markets Commission (FMC) with the capital market regulator will be completed by September this year.
"The merger process between Sebi and FMC will be completed by September this year," Mr Sinha said at a seminar organised by Bharat Chamber of Commerce here on Thursday.
He said that worldwide, there is "hardly any instance" that two regulatory bodies are being merged like the one here.
After the completion of the merger, Sebi would work on commodity derivatives, he added.
