Homoeopathic treatment provider Dr Batra's is embarking on an expansion drive with plans to open 280 new clinics across the country by 2016.
The homoeopathic treatment chain, which forayed into media vertical with the launch of a monthly magazine - named 'Homeopathy & You' - on Thursday, said it will look for franchise partners for a significant part of the new clinics.
"We plan to open 280 clinics by 2016 across the country. Out of these 150 will be through franchising while 130 will be company-owned," Dr Batra's founder and chairman Mukesh Batra said.
Dr Batra's Healthcare currently has 121 clinics spread across 61 cities with presence in India, UK and Dubai.
When asked about the investments, the company will incur for the expansion, Mr Batra said the investments will be only for the clinics that will be company-owned, while on others investments will be made by the franchisees.
On the launch of the new magazine, Mr Batra said with 10 crore people using homoeopathy in India, the company felt it should spread the benefits of the medical stream to the masses.
Apart from the monthly magazine that is being priced at Rs 75 per copy, the media arm of the group also plans to bring one book on the homoeopathy and health every year, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for HRD Shashi Tharoor said, "It is very important for homoeopathy to document the successful case studies. Documentation is very important."
