Dena Bank Q3 profit up 20% at Rs 187 crore

Public sector lender Dena Bank today reported a 20 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 186.68 crore for the third quarter ending December 2011.

The bank had a net profit of Rs 155.21 crore in the October-December quarter of 2010-11 fiscal.

The total income of the bank rose to Rs 1,810.21 crore during the third quarter from Rs 1,417 crore in the corresponding period a year ago, Dena Bank said in a filing to the BSE.

The bank made provisions of Rs 124 crore in the third quarter, an increase of 45 per cent from Rs 85 crore in a year ago quarter.

Interest income rose to Rs 1,676.24 crore during the December quarter, up 30 per cent from Rs 1,289.89 crore in the year-ago period.

Shares of Dena Bank rose 8.57 per cent over previous close to Rs 79.80 on the BSE.
