The cement-to-sugar conglomerate's consolidated net profit surged to Rs 94 crore from Rs 53 crore during the same quarter of the previous year.
Its net sales during the quarter rose 10.44 per cent to Rs 1,777 crore.
Dalmia Bharat said its logistics cost in the quarter fell 11 per cent year on year while the company also strengthened its product portfolio by launching super-premium cement 'Dalmia DSP' in the eastern region.
Going ahead, Dalmia Bharat expects cement demand to gain momentum supported by good monsoons, implementation of Seventh Pay Commission hikes and thrust by government on infrastructure and housing.
Shares of Dalmia Bharat ended 2.41 per cent lower at Rs 1,445.
