Prices of precious metals (gold and silver) declined on Wednesday on the back of weak global cues ahead of US consumer price data due later in the day.
Gold futures prices for delivery on June 4 were trading marginally higher on the Multi Commodity Exchange while silver futures for delivery in July slipped marginally.
Spot gold was up 0.2 per cent at $1,834.96 per ounce by 11;00 am, after hitting its highest since February 11 at $1,842.91 in the previous session.
Gold futures contracts for delivery in June rose as much as 0.36 per cent to hit an intraday high of Rs 47,770 on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX).
Gold prices were mostly unchanged on Wednesday as the possibility of higher US interest rates supported the dollar.
