Gold prices edged lower in listless trade at the bullion market on Tuesday due to lack of buying interest from stockists and retailers.

The Rs 100 coin will be 44 millimeter in diameter with a metal composition of silver (50 per cent), copper (40 per cent), nickel (5 per cent) and zinc (5 per cent).
In the national capital, gold of 99.9 per cent and 99.5 per cent purity bounced Rs 470 each to Rs 31,000 and Rs 30,850 per 10 grams, respectively.
Globally, gold after hitting one-year high of $1,357.64 an ounce, fell 0.19 per cent to $1,346 an ounce and silver by 0.91 per cent to $17.93 an ounce in New York in yesterday's trade.
Silver slipped below the Rs 41,000-mark by falling Rs 500 to Rs 40,600 per kg.
Earlier, a 12.5 per cent excise duty was scrapped along with other local taxes when a goods and services tax (GST) was introduced on July 1.
