Cera Sanitaryware Posts 48 Per Cent Rise in September Quarter Profit

Mumbai: Cera Sanitaryware Ltd on Tuesday reported a 48 per cent jump in net profit at Rs 15.75 crore in the quarter ended September 2014.

The company had registered a profit of Rs 10.62 crore for the corresponding period a year ago.

During the second ended September 2014, Cera Sanitaryware notched up net sales income of Rs 199.60 crore as against Rs 158.76 crore in the same period last year, according to a company statement released in Mumbai on Tuesday.

Continuing its streak of growing at 20-plus top line every quarter, Cera Sanitaryware has achieved a net sales income from operations at Rs 361.93 crore for the first half of the current fiscal year, which is 27 per cent growth over Rs 285.35 crore of income earned during April-September 2013, the statement said.

Bottom line growth stood at 35 per cent compared to what it was last fiscal year. Net profit after tax for April-September 2014 was estimated at Rs 29.38 crore as compared to Rs 21.81 crores net profit in the same period last year, the statement said.

The company has decided to incur capital expenditure in the current financial year for increasing production capacity from 2.7 million pieces to 3 million pieces in its sanitary-ware division and increase the current capacity of faucet-ware production to 10,000 pieces per day, the statement said.

It also plans to set up a 4 MW wind farm in Gujarat and a rooftop solar plant of 1 MW for captive use, the statement said.
