Brokers Poll: Buy, Sell or Hold

GMR Infrastructure and Fortis Healthcare have majority 'buy' recommendations, while Coramandel International and First Source Solutions have majority 'sell' recommendations.

Brokers Poll: Buy, Sell or Hold

Each day, the NDTV Broker Poll gives a heads up on the street recommendations for 50 stocks. Brokers give 'buy', 'sell' or 'hold' recommendations. The survey gives an overview of the market trend on a particular scrip. 

Here are some key recommendations:

HCL Technologies

The opinion is equally divided. A third of the brokers polled have said 'buy' HCL Tech while a third have said 'sell'. About 33 per cent have said 'Hold'

Noida-based IT major HCL Technologies Limited reported its second quarter earnings ended December 2011 on Tuesday.

Its consolidated revenues shot up 12.8 per cent to Rs 5,245 crore in the second quarter against Rs 4,651.2 crore in the first quarter (QoQ). Profit after tax (PAT) rose 15.29 per cent to Rs 573 crore against Rs 497 crore (quarter-on-quarter). 

TCS

The poll suggests that the street is bullish on the company. About 45 per cent say 'buy' and 38 per cent say 'hold'. The company will also report its third quarter earnings ending December 2011 on Tuesday.  TCS Q3 sales are seen up 13.50 per cent, while profit is seen up 21.74 per cent quarter on quarter. Volumes may grow 3-4 per cent. 

Reliance Infrastucture

Our poll says that 45 per cent have put a 'hold' recommendation, while 41 per cent have said 'buy' into this company. Only 14 per cent advised selling Reliance Infrastructure. Sarvendra Srivastava, Independent Market Analyst, has suggested buying Reliance Infra above Rs 422 with a target of Rs 455-460. 

Cairn India

According to the poll, 57 brokers maintained a buy rating on the stock; 20 per cent suggested selling while 23 per cent gave a hold rating. The stock has seen a 15 per cent gain in the period of three months. Weakness in the rupee has given a boost to the stock as realisations are in dollar terms. There was a buzz of an interim special dividend. 

SAIL

The poll suggests 60 per cent brokers have recommended buying the stock, only 10 per cent advised selling and remaining 30 per cent suggested holding it. Sarvendra Srivastava has advised booking profits around Rs 95-100 on the stock.
