Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan has picked up 1.1 lakh shares of brokerage house Stampede Capital Ltd for an estimated Rs 1.21 crore.
As per the information available with the stock exchanges, Bachchan - often called Big B - acquired 1.1 lakh shares of Stampede Capital through open market route on Tuesday.
The shares were purchased on an average price of Rs 109.92, valuing the transaction to Rs 1.21 crore.
Shares of Stampede Capital have shot up more than 30 per cent within a month.
Apart from Stampede Capital, Bachchan also holds stake in another listed company Just Dial. The Bollywood icon has nearly 0.09 per cent stake, or 62,794 shares, in Just Dial.
According to a disclosure by Just Dial in its IPO prospectus, Bachchan was allotted 62,794 shares at a price of Rs 10 each in 2011, valuing his original investment at just Rs 6.27 lakh. His holdings are now valued at around Rs 9 crore.
