BSNL's Rs 118 prepaid recharge plan in detail:
BSNL has unveiled the Rs 118 prepaid recharge plan or special tariff voucher (STV), according to a tweet from the company's official Twitter handle @BSNLCorporate. This BSNL prepaid recharge plan is valid for 28 days. Subscribers will also get access to personalised ring back tone (PRBT), said BSNL. Under the PRBT service of BSNL, users can customize their ringback tone. This prepaid recharge plan has been rolled out across India. This prepaid recharge plan offers unlimited local/STD voice calls facility in home LSA (licensee service area). It also offers national roaming across the country but is not valid in Delhi and Mumbai.

Users also get access to Personalised Ring Back Tone (PRBT).
The prepaid recharge offer has been rolled out on PAN India basis.
Recently, BNSL has also unveiled a prepaid recharge plan or STV priced at Rs 26.

This prepaid recharge plan of BSNL, priced at Rs 26, offers unlimited local and STD voice calls. Voice calls are free in both on-net (BSNL to BSNL) and off-net (BSNL to others) network in home LSA. National roaming is also offered in this prepaid recharge plan of BSNL but is not valid in Delhi and Mumbai. This STV offers 150 MB of internet, and 100 SMS per day. It is valid for only two days, BSNL had said earlier on its Twitter handle.

The telecom sector, which has been struggling due to debts and competition, reported a pre-tax loss of Rs 38,153 crore during financial year 2016-17 from Rs 1,699 crore in the previous fiscal.
"Based on audited/unaudited information submitted by telecom service sector companies to TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India), the profit before tax (PBT) for the telecom service sector companies has decreased from Rs (-) 1,699 crore for the financial year 2015-16 to Rs (-) 38,153 crore for the financial year 2016-17," Communications Minister Manoj Sinha said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha. The pre-tax losses of BSNL for financial year 2016-17 stood at Rs 4,793 crore. (With Agency Inputs)
