AirAsia India is offering tickets to Kuala Lumpur for an all-inclusive Rs 2,999. The promotional scheme is aimed at cornering a bigger pie of market share during the ongoing holiday season, analysts say.
Bookings under AirAsia's "Christmas sale" are valid for travel between January 4 and June 30 next year. Bookings can be made till January 3, AirAsia said.
AirAsia's all-inclusive Rs 2,999 tickets to Kuala Lumpur are applicable on journeys from Tiruchirappalli and Kochi, the airline said. Other discounted fares offered under the scheme include journeys from Goa to Kuala Lumpur at Rs 4,999, Chennai to Kuala Lumpur at Rs 5,399, Visakhapatnam to Kuala Lumpur at Rs 3,699, and Kolkata to Bangkok at Rs 9,562.
Earlier this month, rival GoAir - which has been one of the aggressive players in offering promotional fares this year - in a scheme focused on Christmas offered fares starting as low as Rs 603 (base fare and fuel charge).
Domestic air traffic logged robust growth of 24.65 per cent last month with 11 Indian carriers together flying 7.32 million passengers, as against 5.82 million in November 2014, monthly traffic data from aviation regulator DGCA showed.
