Bengaluru: A 28-year-old techie working with software major Accenture was killed in a Bengaluru suburb early on Monday morning while he was on his way to meet a woman friend. Pranoy Mishra belonged to Odisha. He was found bleeding after being stabbed repeatedly on a road about a kilometre from the house that he rented. Passersby rushed him to hospital where he was declared dead.

Police say Mr Mishra was out partying with friends on Sunday, reached home and then left to meet a female friend who stays nearby. "He has been stabbed multiple times, but no valuable has been taken by assailants, we are probing all angles and have got some leads," said senior police officer MB Borolingaiah.

"A murder case has been registered and investigation is on to find the motive behind the attack, as Mishra's cell phone and other belongings were found in his shirt and pant pockets," said the police officer.

The police visited the Accenture office for more information on him from its management and his colleagues; the company has not commented yet on the case.

"As the murder took place in the wee hours after the weekend and away from Mishra's office, the company is not being investigated," said the police officer to news agency IANS.

The police has contacted the friends he met on Sunday and is scanning his call record details.
