Amaravati: YSR Congress president and leader of opposition in Andhra Pradesh Assembly YS Jaganmohan Reddy will launch his 'Praja Sankalpa' pad yatra (foot march) on November 6 "to reach out to the unreached and interact with over two crore people" of the state.

"He will appeal to build a better Andhra Pradesh where development has now been pushed to back seat due to the misplaced priorities of Chandrababu Naidu government," YSR Congress senior leaders Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy and Ummareddy Venkateswarlu announced today.

The foot march would be held in 125 assembly segments highlighting the "failures" of the Chandrababu Naidu government and stressing the need for Special Category Status (SCS) to the state, they told reporters after the extended executive meeting of the party, chaired by Jagan.

With the CBI special court in Hyderabad rejecting Mr Jagan's plea for an exemption from personal appearance in the ongoing trial in various disproportionate assets cases, the YSR Congress chief will take a break every Friday and resume the foot march the next day.

While the foot march would be held for 180 days covering 3000 km, the remaining 50 Assembly segments would be covered subsequently through a bus yatra, the senior leaders said.

"The main aim is to visit every household in each constituency, listen to their needs, tell them about the failure of Chandrababu Naidu government and highlight policies and promises of our party that would benefit all sections of people bereft of any affiliations," they added.

Assembly constituency-wise manifestos would be drafted in discussion with the local people and based on their needs. These inputs would be incorporated in the final manifesto of the Party, they said.
