As the Conservative Liberal Democrat coalition government gets to work, the Labour party prepares to sit in opposition. With Gordon Brown resigning as Labour party leader, the race for a new leader has begun. As was widely expected the first to throw his hat into the ring is former Foreign Secretary David Miliband but the race could get even more interesting with sources saying his brother Ed Miliband is also considering running for the post.

With the Labour party's worst performance since the 1920s in any elections, 44-year-old David Miliband has taken the first step towards the possibility  of becoming British Prime Minister, by running for the post of Labour leader.

The man who Hillary Clinton has a crush on is the first of the contenders in the race. David Miliband who has been close to former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has the backing of the 'Blairites' in the party.

An unprecedented situation could unfold if David Miliband's brother Ed Miliband also decides to stand for party leader. The contest will be brother versus brother, though both brothers are said to be very close to each other. Ed was a Cabinet Minister in Gordon Brown's government.

Ed Miliband says, "Conferences...as I always get confused for my famous elder brother. Guess my low moment was when Sky News produced a top trumps pack comparing different politicians. I was quite upset. There were both of us David and I. He beat me on parliamentary skills and I thought well that's fine he's been in parliament longer than I. He beat me on charisma but then i thought these guys were really biased as he beat me on looks!"

The other certain contender is Gordon brown's close ally is Ed Balls, but these candidates will canvass for support for more than three months with the election most likely during their party conference in September.
