The Dalai Lama is officially on social networking site Twitter.
With seven tweets in the last 24 hours and over 46,000 followers already, the verified twitter account of the spiritual head of the Tibetans in exile looks busy already.
The website of the Tibetan government-in-exile, Tibet.com, has an announcement on this, saying the Dalai will use twitter to "keep in touch with his followers."
It also quotes Twitter founder Evan Williams' tweet: "Met the Dalai Lama today in LA. Pitched him on using Twitter. He laughed."
The Dalai Lama also has an official website at www.dalailama.com.
For those rushing to follow though, do note that as of now the tweets are more a public relations exercise with links to the Dalai's activities and less 140 characters of wisdom straight from the spiritual leader.
