Robot waiters serving dinner in Thailand

It could be the ultimate waiter, or the future of fine dining. In a first of its kinds, a restaurant in Thailand is using robot as waiters. They're fast, virtually never slip up and can guarantee service with a smile.

The restaurant says the robots help to trim labour costs and don't need breaks - even when they have spare time on their hands.

Intriguing? Yes, but humans are still needed to help keep the restaurant going, and real-life chefs still crank out the meals.

But helping cut costs can trickle down to the consumer. Just try giving the robot a tip - they're not programmed to accept them.

And if that robotic smile isn't brightening your day, perhaps a little robot dance may help do it for you. The bots do that for customers as well.
