Pak denies involvement in attack on Iran troops
Tehran: While denouncing Sunday's suicide bomb attack on Iran's elite troops, Pakistan has denied suggestions from the Iranian president that "some security agents" in Pakistan were cooperating with the bombers, according to reports in a section of the media.

Tehran had summoned Islamabad's envoy on Sunday, and expressed regret that members of a terrorist group entered Iran through Pakistan ahead of the deadly bombing against the nation's elite Revolutionary Guards.

The ministry also "urged Pakistani authorities to act firmly to prevent the movement of those terrorists and rebels in their country."

Earlier on Saturday, a suicide bomber killed seven senior commanders of the elite Revolutionary Guard and over 40 others in south-eastern Iran. The explosion occurred at the entrance of a sports complex ahead of a meeting to promote unity between Shiite and Sunni Muslim communities.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ordered Iranian authorities to swiftly track down those behind the attack. "I am ordering the relevant officials to quickly identify the elements behind this terrorist crime, and hand them over to the judiciary. I assure the Iranian people, especially the dear people of Sistan-Baluchestan, that the criminals will very soon receive a response to their inhuman acts."
