Osama bin Laden has been killed outside Abbotabad, about 150 km from Islamabad in Pakistan, the US President Barack Obama announced today. He was killed by US forces.
Abbotabad, two hours by road from Islamabad, is known for educational institutions. It is also seen as a base for banned outfits. Abbotabad was once a popular tourist destination.
Osama was in a "mansion" with his family and was killed early this morning. The women and children were taken into custody.
A Pak Army helicopter crashed as he was killed. Three blasts were also heard.
