Nepal Earthquake: Gujarat in Touch With Centre to Ensure Return of Gujaratis

New Delhi: The Gujarat government is coordinating with the Centre and airport authorities to facilitate return of Gujaratis stuck in quake-hit Nepal and has made arrangements for their stay in the national capital.

Its Resident Commissioner's office is coordinating with the Ministry of External Affairs and Indian Embassy in Kathmandu and also working with airport authorities for in- bound passengers, official sources said today.

"Officials are at the airport round the clock. At Gujarat Bhavan, our control room numbers are 011-46278700 and 46273200," a official source said.

Though people mostly are preferring to go directly to Gujarat from the airport but 13 people spent the last night at Gujarat Bhavan in Delhi, he said.

The government has made arrangements for their stay at Gujarat Bhavan and Gujarati Samaj here.

"The Resident Commissioner office is also in touch with the Ministry of Home Affairs for any help in other states where Gujaratis tourists might need help.

"Chief Minister Anandiben Patel has reviewed the arrangements and directed the Delhi-based Resident Commissioner's office to render all possible help to Gujaratis stuck in Nepal and any other parts of Himalayas affected by earthquake," he said.
