London police have charged a protester who aimed a plate of shaving foam at Rupert Murdoch at a parliamentary hearing on the UK newspaper hacking scandal yesterday.
(Pics - Phone hacking scandal: Who said what)Police said on Wednesday that 26-year-old Jonathan May-Bowles was charged with behavior causing harassment, alarm or distress in a public place under Section 5 of the Public Order Act.
The media mogul was not injured in the incident, but his wife Wendi Deng jumped up and gave May-Bowles a sharp slap on the head.
May-Bowles is due to appear in City of Westminster Magistrates Court on July 29.
Media reports had identified him as Jonnie Marbles, a British comedian.
