Ivory Coast Will Allow Sierra Leone Team in Amid Ebola Fears

Ivory Coast Will Allow Sierra Leone Team in Amid Ebola Fears
Abidjan, Ivory Coast:

The Ivory Coast government says it will allow the Sierra Leone team in to play an African Cup qualifier after fears over Ebola put the game and Ivory Coast's place in the tournament in doubt.

The Ivorian government announced the decision late on Monday night after a meeting of its National Security Council.

Ivory Coast has restrictions on travel from countries affected by the deadly virus like Sierra Leone and initially said the squad would not be allowed in. The Confederation of African Football insisted Saturday's game should go ahead or Ivory Coast would forfeit its place in qualifying.

The Ivorian government said it was allowing the team in because none of the players been in Ebola-hit Sierra Leone in the last 21 days.
