Highlights: 25 nations involved in search operation for Malaysia Airlines jet, says transport minister

Malaysian Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein today held a press briefing on the steps his government is taking to find missing MH370 flight, which mysteriously disappeared on March 8.

Also included in the briefing are Malaysia Airlines Chief Executive Ahmad Jauhari Yahya and Inspector General Khalid Abu Bakar.

Here are the highlights:

  • Asking countries which have satellite assets to provide further satellite data
  • 25 countries are assisting us in the search operation. We've spoken to Bangladesh, India, Kazakhstan,  Turkmenistan and other countries.
  • Malaysia has been working with international law enforcement agencies from Day 1
  • Operation has entered a new phase, only facts which are corroborated will be released
  • Maritime vessels are needed for Southern corridor
  • Authorities are focussing on all passengers, crew and ground staff
  • Visited pilot, co-pilot's home, both of them didn't ask to work together
  • Will provide details of redeployment of assets for search for missing Flight MH370 soon
