Greenhouse Gas Levels in Atmosphere Hit New High: UN

Geneva: Surging levels of carbon dioxide sent greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere to a new record in 2013, while gas-absorbing oceans were hit by "unprecedented" acidification, the UN said Tuesday.

In its annual report on greenhouse gas concentrations, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) said that carbon dioxide levels between 2012 and 2013 marked the largest annual increase in 30 years.
