New Delhi: The Ed Sheeran cameo in Game Of Thrones... wait, what? Yes, you read that correct. The English singer featured briefly in the debut episode of Game Of Thrones season 7 and Twitter has lots to say. More than reviewing the premiere of Game Of Thrones season 7, what's keeping Twitter busy is weighing the necessity of Ed Sheeran's cameo in the episode. We'll tell you what happened. Arya Stark (played by Maisie Williams) was on her way from Walder Frey's castle to King's Landing when she bumped into a group of soldiers singing and enjoying a meal by a fire in the woods. The noise of hooves made the soldiers turn to look at Arya, and then it happened - Ed Sheeran was spotted as the one singing the song. Arya was invited to break bread with the soldiers. She obliged and even gulped down some ale only to tell the surprised lot of soldiers that she intends to kill the queen, Cersei Lannister.

Meanwhile, this is what Twitter has to say. "Audibly groaned when Ed Sheeran came on screen in Game Of Thrones because it was entirely unnecessary and not subtle in the slightest," read a tweet while: "Ed Sheeran's cameo on Game Of Thrones has everyone playing wordplay on his songs," pointed out another.

There were several references to Ed Sheeran's songs, for example, Twitter thought that the lyrics of Thinking Out Loud fits perfectly as the introductory lines for a supposed meeting between him and Brandon Stark (Arya's crippled brother) - "When your legs don't work like they used to before." There's also a fictional sample conversation that might have happened between Arya and Ed Sheeran's character.
