The airways company said in a statement today, "In line with procedures taken by many airlines, Etihad Airways is committed to the instructions they receive from the Egyptian authorities."
"The authorities said avoiding flying in certain areas of the airspace will affect flights," the statement said, adding the Etihad will continue to follow the situation closely.
The statement apologises in advance to passengers for any slight delays or inconvenience that might occur because of the situation.
The safety and security of passengers remains the highest priority of the company, it said.
