Diana's ring made smaller to fit Kate's finger

Diana's ring made smaller to fit Kate's finger
London: A ring worn by the late Princess Diana that was given to royal bride Kate Middleton is now being made smaller to fit her finger better.

Kate has asked jewellers to alter the ring ahead of her wedding to Prince William April 29, the Daily Mail reported.

The sapphire and diamond ring was worn by Diana, Princess of Wales.

Kate asked crown jewellers G. Collins and Sons to attach small platinum beads inside the bottom of the ring to make the band fit on her finger.

A palace source said the 29-year-old bride "adores" the ring and "didn't want to cause a fuss". But she had found the band was turning on her finger.

"A bride's worst nightmare is looking down and seeing her ring has fallen off. One can only imagine how this is magnified when you are marrying the future King of England," the source said.

The ring, which was also Princess Diana's engagement ring, is valued at 32 million pounds.

William gave the ring to Kate to ensure his late mother would still be part of their big day.
