New Delhi:
The Chief of a British research centre Phil Jones, caught in a storm of controversy over claims that he and others suppressed data about climate change has resigned.
Emails by Phil Jones were among the thousands of pieces of correspondence leaked to the internet late last month.
Jones has also been accused of manipulating data to support his climate change research.
Climate change skeptics had obtained the emails by hacking into a computer at the University of East Anglia where Professor Phil Jones was the director of the university's Climatic Research Unit.
