Our spotlight today is on the Pallikaranai wetland, which is the largest freshwater swamp in Tamil Nadu. In the last 20 years, the marsh has shrunk to just a few hundred acres due to extensive encroachments even though the marsh is home to several rare and endangered species. Smitha TK has caught up with a few residents who have been fighting for its survival for the past one decade.
