Is NDA the best bet for Jammu and Kashmir?
Defence Minister Arun Jaitley visited Kashmir this weekend, a day after ceasefire violations on the Line of Control. He said he was only there to review the security situation but inevitably his presence and following press conference raised important questions about the new governments Kashmir policy. The valley is concerned about whether the government will take the middle road with Kashmir and engage all parties to the dispute, the way PM Narendra Modi's NDA predecessor Atal Bihari Vajpayee did with his approach, or whether he will chart a new, aggressive path on contentious issues like Article 370.
