Politicisation of Valmiki in UP

The Uttar Pradesh government has changed the content in school textbooks related to sage Valmiki, who had originally written The Ramayana. Earlier, these textbooks consisted of Valmiki's life story, in which it was mentioned that before becoming a sage, Valmiki was a mere robber.
