Against the backdrop of the Supreme Court's strong directions, Dahi Handi celebrations on Janmashtami in Maharashtra went ahead with festive fervour. In Thane, a police case was filed against Avinash Yadav, the man who openly defied orders sporting a message on his T-shirt - "I will break the law" written in Marathi.
