No warning of flood
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahugana tells NDTV that there Met dept warnings on rain but not on flash floods and cloud burst. He says that town cannot be evacuated on warning. The CM also lashes out at activist saying that activism cannot be allowed to stall development.
Uttarakhand floods: Man-made tragedy?
Uttarakhand disaster is natural, bit is the damage more man-made. Unbridled construction, open flouting of norms and scant regard for ecology has risked thousands of lives. Was the CAG warning 3 years ago on a disaster waiting to happen ignored?
