A Supreme Court judge, who had earlier objected to a judges' conference being held on Good Friday, declined a dinner invitation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this evening saying that he will be in Kerala for religious ceremonies. In his letter written on April 1, Justice Kurian Joseph sought to draw Mr Modi's attention by saying, "that no important programmes are held during sacred and auspicious days... though we have holidays during that period as well."
