It is finally official. Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee will run for President as the ruling UPA's candidate. His candidacy, ratified at a meeting of the Congress's allies at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's 7 Race Course Road residence today, was announced by Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
