The United Nations Security Council has removed 14 Taliban leaders from its blacklist to facilitate talks. This comes after it split Al Qaeda and Taliban from the blacklist in June to encourage reconciliation. In an exclusive interview to NDTV, former President Burhannudin Rabbani who spearheads the council for reconciliation with the Taliban said the US and Afghanistan were moving to remove Taliban from the UN blacklist.
