Supreme Court has come down heavily on ragging in colleges. The court has directed state governments to implement Raghavan committee guidelines on ragging. The court said people indulging in ragging must be punished and any delay in taking action by the institution may lead to de-recognisation. The court said if the university is prima facie satisfied, it can suspend the student and immediately inform the police.
