NDTV had reported seven years ago, in May 2005 that Tatra was embroiled in what was described as a dubious deal. Documents available with NDTV showed how Defence Public Sectur Unit Bharat Earth Movers Ltd or BEML had broken guidelines to purchase these Tatra trucks. As a result, trucks which should have been indigenously built are still being procured from abroad. Here's our report from May 2005.
