BJP leader Amit Shah, in charge of the party's campaign in Uttar Pradesh, told NDTV that the party has a lot of support in the Hindi heartland. On Narendra Modi, Mr Shah said, "He focuses on working hard for the benefit of the country. Gujarat is a result of that. He always welcomes new and innovative ideas and tries to imbibe them."
