He was the bravest of the brave, a young 25-year-old who single-handedly eliminated four terrorists while trying to infiltrate the Line of Control in the Gurez sector in Kashmir. Lt Navdeep Singh paid with his life. Today, the nation honoured him with the highest peacetime bravery award, the Ashok Chakra which was received by a very proud father himself an ex-soldier of the Indian Army.
