A red alert was sounded in tiger sanctuaries across the country to look out for poachers last week, but now the Uttarakhand government has issued orders to kill a tiger that they claim has turned into a man-eater. The tiger allegedly killed a 45-year-old woman Bhagwati Devi when she had gone into the protected buffer zone surrounding the Corbett National Park to collect firewood. Going into the forest is illegal but villagers are now gunning for the tiger.
