Instability letting China move in: Ex-Maldives president to NDTV

Former Maldives President Mohamed Nasheed, who had taken diplomatic sanctuary at the Indian High Commission in Male last month, has said that the current government in his country is fostering insecurity and is playing the China card against New Delhi. Speaking to NDTV, Mr Nasheed said Maldives did not have a military defence agreement with China but the current dispensation has signed a new treaty.
