Gujarat Ode riot case verdict: 23 convicted, 23 acquitted

Almost a decade after a mob killed 23 Muslims in the Ode village of Anand district in Gujarat, a special court has convicted 23 of the 47 people accused in the case. 23 others, meanwhile, have been acquitted. One died during the course of the trial. The Ode massacre is one amongst the nine post-Godhra riot cases investigated by the Supreme Court-appointed Special Investigating Team (SIT).
