Food inflation may be result of growing prosperity: Manmohan

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday said inflation in food articles in India was, indeed, a problem but that grain prices have been relatively stable. He also pointed out that rising prices of vegetables, eggs, fish and other secondary and tertiary food items is a reflection of the demand for these commodities exceeding supplies. This, to certain extent, is a sign of growing prosperity in our country, he added.
