FDI in airport modernisation may go up

The government is considering allowing of 74 per cent Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the modernisation of 25 non-metro airports, along with Chennai and Kolkata airports. But these decisions will be on a case-to-case basis. In a decision that may raise the political temperature, the government says that it will keep state governments out of the decision on the level of FDI to be allowed in the airports.
