Current account deficit likely to ease in January quarter: Standard Chartered

The current account deficit hit a record high of 6.7 per cent of GDP in Q3, but economists expect the CAD to reduce in Q4, and go on to ease in FY14. Samiran Chakraborty, chief economist of Standard Chartered, however, raises concerns about the country’s balance of payments where vulnerabilities are rising.
