Chennai set to get a second airport

As the upgradation of the existing airport in Chennai nears completion, the Tamil Nadu government is now actively considering a Greenfield airport in the outskirts of the state capital. The airport, which will come up in Sriperumbudur at a cost of Rs 6,600 crore, is likely to get a go-ahead for environmental clearances within a month.
