The district of Bellary is in a state of suspended animation. So much has been unearthed about illegal iron-ore mining. The CBI raids are still going on, the focus is now firmly on what has been going wrong with the multi-crore mining industry. All mining in the district has been totally suspended in a bid to clean up the system - but where does that leave the thousands of people who were legitimately working in the industry, trying to keep body and soul together?
