Banks' NPAs soar on account of agri loan waiver

Despite a strong set of numbers, SBI shares fell in trade on Monday, as markets worried about the rising non performing assets (NPAs) at the bank. But a large part of those rising NPAs are coming from the agricultural sector due to a fallout of the government's farm loan waiver scheme. And it is not just SBI that is feeling the heat, other PSU banks are also scrambling to implement the scheme and limit any negative fallout.
