Asaram Bapu will remain in jail for now on charges of sexually assaulting a schoolgirl, a court in Rajasthan ruled today, as it rejected his request for bail. His lawyer had said the spiritual leader is unwell and will seek bail in a higher court. The 75-year-old guru was arrested on Saturday night at his ashram in Madhya Pradesh and taken back to Jodhpur, where he is accused of having sexually assaulted a 16-year-old on August 15.
