That is the name of a training programme that is designed to help theatre groups operate more efficiently as they put on plays, gather resources and an audience. A mentoring programme is on with theatre groups around the country who attended the first SMART workshop in Bengaluru. Unpaid volunteers do backstage work, actors are often not paid at all and few people can think of making a career out of theatre.
